Privacy notice
Last updated 23 October 2026. In plain English: we collect as little as we can, and never sell it.
Who we are
Sponsorable is run by Build Rapid (run by Arya). Build Rapid is responsible for your data under UK data protection law. Questions or requests: arya@buildrapid.com.
When you check a job
You send us the company, job title, salary, location and job ad text (the extension reads these from the LinkedIn job you have open). We use them to answer, then discard them. We don't store the job ad or link checks to you.
Two exceptions, neither about you: if our AI confidently matches a job title that isn't in the official list, we save that title and its occupation code so the next check doesn't need AI; and if you pick an occupation for a job title, we save the cleaned title, the code, and a one-way scrambled form of a random ID kept in your browser.
When you tell us something
- “Was this answer right?” Your yes or no, any comment you write, and the company, job title, verdict, occupation code and visa type of that check, so we can find and fix wrong answers.
- Early access to Sponsorable Pro. Your email address, your role if you add it, which option you picked, your visa type, and your two choices: whether you want Sponsorable updates, and whether you're happy to share your experience in a 20-minute call (both are off unless you tick them). We use these to give you early access and send you the top sponsors for your role, and only if you ticked them, to send updates or email you to arrange a call. (Before 23 October this was a vote, where the email was optional.)
- “Not for me right now.” Whatever you write about what would help you instead, and your visa type, so we can decide what to build. It isn't linked to you.
- “Got sponsored?” The company, role, salary band and year you enter, and your visa type. Nothing that identifies you.
Please don't put personal details in comments.
Usage statistics
We count how Sponsorable is used (checks run, answers given, buttons clicked) with PostHog, hosted in the EU. These counts never include your name, email, comments, the job ad, or the company you checked.
On the website we store nothing in your browser for this: each visit is counted on its own. (The website does remember, in your browser only, that you've answered the Sponsorable Pro card, so it doesn't ask again.) If your browser sends a “do not track” or Global Privacy Control signal, we don't count you at all. In the extension, a random ID lets us see whether people come back; you can switch this off under “Share anonymous usage stats” in the panel.
Spam protection
To stop abuse, we count requests per visitor using a one-way scrambled form of your IP address. We never store the address itself, and the counts expire within a day.
The Chrome extension
It runs only on linkedin.com. It reads the job you have open in your own browser, and sends it to us only to check it. On job search pages it also sends us the company name and job title of each job in the list, so it can show whether that company holds a sponsor licence; we use them to answer, then discard them. It stores your visa type and two random IDs in your browser: one for occupation picks, one for usage statistics (which you can switch off). It also remembers whether you've answered the Sponsorable Pro card, and the date the card was last counted, so it doesn't ask again. It doesn't read your messages, profile or anything outside job pages, and it doesn't track your browsing.
Who helps us run Sponsorable
- Vercel hosts the website and API.
- Supabase stores our database, in Ireland.
- Upstash keeps the spam-protection counts, in Ireland.
- PostHog counts usage, in the EU.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): when a job title is hard to match, we send the job title and ad text to Claude to suggest an occupation code. Nothing about you is sent.
We don't sell or share your data with anyone else, and we don't use cookies or advertising trackers.
How long we keep it, and your rights
Early-access emails, roles and choices are kept until you ask us to remove them or we stop running early access. To stop updates or calls, just reply to any email or write to us. Feedback, “Not for me” answers and “Got sponsored?” reports are kept to improve Sponsorable for everyone. Under UK data protection law you can ask to see or delete anything we hold about you: email arya@buildrapid.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Not immigration or legal advice
Sponsorable gives guidance from public data (the Home Office sponsor register, the UK Immigration Rules and ONS occupation codes). It isn't immigration or legal advice. Check important decisions with your employer or a qualified adviser.
